About

‘Everything you can imagine is real’ Pablo Picasso

As a little girl I perched upon the damp, mossy rocks of the river that twisted through the woodland heart of my village. Here I sat; pencil in hand, paper in my lap. Listening. Waiting. The water gushed past my feet. The forest rustled around me - and creatures began to jump from the undergrowth and come to life on my page. Encouraged by my parents and teachers I would often spend my days on those rocks – soaking in the natural world; totally absorbed by my imagination. There were small creatures with curled fern wings that lived in the acorns, there were ones so huge their barked bodies would shake the ground as they stomped passed me.  There were creatures made of mud and stone and talking animals dressed in their finest robes. They were all there.  All the creatures! As a child, I was always thinking about them. And as an adult? Well, I have never quite managed to stop.

After graduating with a First Class Honours degree from LCF, and working as a medical Silicone limb sculptor for 7 years, I created Ellsewhere in 2012. With a focus on nature, creativity and play I have brought forth a multitude of creatures from this dreamscape including; a magpie inspired headpiece for actress Kate Winslet to collect her CBE from HRH The Queen, over 20 headpieces for Elephant families ‘The Animal Ball’ (at Clarence House), 70 bespoke masks for an Olympic ball (at the Royal Academy of Arts), animal masks for Penguin Books, a woodland themed collection for fashion designer Matthew Williamson, a peacock headdress for actress Anna Friel, a stag headdress for singer Ellie Goulding and an armoured Unicorn for Aynhoe park. My work has been exhibited in the V&A, Sotheby’s Auction house and in 2016 I held my own exhibition in Leica camera studios in Mayfair. I have also been featured in a variety of international press including The Telegraph, Vogue, i-D Magazine, Grazia, Elle, Hello, Marie Clare and Vanity Fair with a radio interview on BBC Radio Cornwall.

.  In 2014 I began working with other companies to help them create their vision for creatures, puppets and creature costumes. My work has been seen in a variety of T.V shows, adverts, film, photo-shoots and events as well as exhibited in National museums.  This includes working with the company AMS LTD on a variety of projects including puppet creation for Wes Anderson's Stop Frame animation ‘Isle of Dogs’ in 2017 and a variety of adverts including the Ikea Lion, Smarties, Standard Charter, Reebok, Honest Tea, WWF.  I have also worked for Crawley Creatures as part of a team on 120 animals for the National Museum of Qatar and, most recently, on a Corgi commission. Other companies I have partnered with include, Pinewood Creative, Yonderland for SKY T.V, The BBC, Millennium Fx for DR WHO and the Unilever tree advert, Artem and Lifecast.

I am passionate about creating creatures, puppets and headwear that encourage a sense of play and that help people engage with a magical part deep inside themselves.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my work, I hope you enjoyed it and please feel free to contact me if you are looking for an extra bit of magic in your life.
